Van Abbemuseum Connecting2nd of May and 2nd of July 2011Project in the Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven (NL) by Anita Couwenbergh, Remko Leeuw and Bernadette van LoonHow can you make a connection from your own heart to the heart of an art museum? What exactly is the heart of the Van Abbe Museum? And is the soul of the museum something abstract? Or is it possible to experience this in a concrete way? Investigating these questions is the foundation of the current cooperation between Anita Couwenbergh, Bernadette van Loon and Remko Leeuw. By offering mini-workshops these three artists will invite visitors to cooperate in their research. In these mini-workshops they focus on possibilities of connecting with the exhibited art, the people in the museum and with the building itself. This is a search for the heart of the Van Abbe Museum and for how the visitor can make a connection with it, from his own heart.

10th of May - 22th of May 2011Preparing ConnectingProject in the Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven (NL) concerning the search for and the strengthening of the soul/heart of the museum. Made by: Anita Couwenbergh together with visual artists Bernadette van Loon and Remko Leeuw. "in(ter)ventions" All these pictures above are excercises done by the artists connecting treasured personal belongings with the art of the museum and lightening up dark spaces. This way they are tracing the experience of making a connection between their hearts and the museum. Weaving is a symbol of integrating, connecting and creating as old as the world itself, maybe? Here we use materials from the direct surroundings of the museum, inviting nature in and connecting this with inspiration drawn from the atmosphere of the inside of the building. We are planning to weave and knit on the highest floor in the tower of the Van Abbe, dreaming of fairytales in which spinning, knitting and weaving - mostly in the highest tower of a castle - are indispensable for the healing-process of the soul. **** March and April /May 2011 Van Abbemuseum EindhovenTaking part in:The Ultimate Flexible Workstationpart of Maja Bekan - Secret Powers for Identity Security and Self-Respect in Troubling Timeshttp://www.vanabbemuseum.nlAnita is working here on a project recycling used cd’s/ dvd’s.
